By considering both science and spirituality as parallel disciplines to comprehend natural phenomena, I strive to uncover their interconnection through my creative work.
In my recent exhibition “Inquirious” I delved into the human inclination to seek explanations, recognizing it as a deeply rooted aspect of humanity. Through extensive research in Geology, Biology, and Mythology, my fascination has grown exponentially as I collect fossils and gather soil during my journeys.
Drawing upon the Latin etymology "Mostrare," meaning "to show," I felt compelled to materialize my own monsters as a means of self-reflection, contemplation, and acceptance. Employing a meticulous technique reminiscent of surgical operation, I gradually stitch the paper components together as an extension of the fossil's original form.
This process gives rise to a few emotional hybrid creatures, evoking a sense of growth and evolution. My artistic approach endeavors to blend the amorphous qualities of natural phenomena with the deliberate intentions of human craftsmanship, resulting in visual metaphors that convey a state of equilibrium and coexistence.
The deliberate use of soil pigments in my creations reflects my deep affinity for the geological world and serves as a constant reminder of the environmental impact of my artistic practice, fostering an ongoing dialogue with the Earth.
